You are not alone

The Author Cain talks to us about the statistics in the first chapter of the book that there are more introverts in the world than extroverts. She says that there are around 2 introverts in the group of 3 people in the USA. She also says that many people can't express themselves in their original form because of the "Extrovert Ideal" in our society.

The way Introvert sees the World

The author also talks about how different perspectives the two types of personalities have in the same situation. The extrovert personality sees the situation on the very surface and they have very less self-control over their "hormones". The extroverts just move in with the situation thinking about very less of the mistakes they make along the way. They are also interested more in small conversations rather than deep conversations because they want to build relations. On the introvert side, they think about the situations  in a very deep way. There is a story that the author has shared also about a second-grade kid how she thinks about the bully in her school. The kid thinks about what is driving this kid to be a bully and what is going on in his mind. The introvert also thinks about every situation he/she is facing and tries to move logically and they have more control of their hormones.

How Different Personalities are treated Different in Different  Cultures

The author also talks about how different types of personalities are treated in different types of cultures in the world. The author says that in "Western Culture" introverts are treated as more unsocial who has an ego and who don't want to talk to anyone around on small matters while in "Eastern Culture" introverts are treated as a keen observer who knows many things but doesn't speak much.

Conclusion

Quiet is a wonderful book everyone should read to know the difference between the two types of personality. And how to treat your child in the world if he/she is an Introvert.
